Ojen

Sometimes deciding where in Spain to buy a property can be a difficult decision ……but when you come and visit the stunning village of Ojen all will become clear! 

 

Ojen (pronounced Ohen) is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful white Andalucian villages along the Costa del Sol.  Situated less than a 10 minute drive to the bustling town of Marbella, Ojen is in the perfect position for great access to airports, shopping, restaurants, nightlife and some of the best beaches.

Although Ojen only has a very small population it has been an extremely popular tourist destination for many years.  Whilst wandering down the typical Spanish streets, between the quaint Andalucian houses you will experience the real feeling of Spain.  Why not visit one of Ojens many shops run by the locals ….but don’t forget your Spanish dictionary! 

 

If you are looking for property in this beautiful village, don’t be put off if you can’t afford a luxury villa with its own swimming pool as Ojen has its own communal swimming pool with poolside restaurant/bar, serving typical Spanish cuisine. 

This is one of many restaurants in Ojen which attracts people not only locally but from much further a field, even famous celebrities have been known to dine in a couple of the restaurants.  This area of the village also boasts its own gymnasium, skateboard park, football pitch and tennis/basketball courts where many large concerts are held. 

 

There are a couple of charming little hotels near the village Plaza (square) where you will find the picturesque church of Ojen.  At the top of the village a top quality hotel is in construction which will have not only a Spa but many more amenities. 

 

The wealth of Ojen has increased dramatically in the last few years, and the governing council has re-invested massive amounts of this wealth back into this village, giving Ojen facilities that are not normally found in a small Andalucian village.
